When looking at GT point distributions, the low (3-5) points are almost always just 1 and are simply enhanced with gear. The issue is probably that 1-2 points are misallocated (and often very difficult to see for new players) or one (or more) of the devotions is missing a final point to complete it. One of the alternative builds (the Crucible 170 in under 5 minutes) uses green items, but the Ravager kill build also uses the Perdition set, showing its solid for most end-game content. Remember, if you can craft the helmet of a set, you can transmute those helmets to other pieces.
